WHO
Founded in 2001, Gidget Foundation Australia provides services to support expectant and new parents experiencing perinatal depression and anxiety. Named after a vibrant young mother who tragically took her own life while experiencing postnatal depression, the Foundation provides services and resources to support vulnerable parents.
The incredible work the charity does relies upon donations and brand awareness, which Givergy has been supporting since 2019. During this time, events were thrown into uncertainty due to the pandemic, but that hasn’t meant that funds have stopped coming in thanks to the diverse products offered by the fundraising platform.
WHAT
The Foundation’s marquee fundraising event, the Gidget Ladies’ Lunch, was held at the Grand Ballroom in the International Convention Centre (ICC) at Darling Harbour. Co-hosts Richard Wilkins and Davina Smith from Nine were the perfect duo to lead the lunch and help bring engagement to the fundraising side of things. The Foundation was also lucky to have the NSW Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women, The Hon. Bronnie Taylor, MLC, as the guest speaker. Guests were also entertained by Scotty Sax, as well as John Watson and Natalie Conway.
To help raise the money needed to continue providing targeted support, Gidget Foundation Australia used both Silent Auction and Pledge features from the Givergy platform. As this event was the 21st anniversary of the charity, there were more than 1,000 attendees who wanted to celebrate the past three decades of positive work. Using the silent auction function, the event organisers could support the Foundation, which was the ultimate goal.
RESULT
This was the first live event since the pandemic and raised $68,970! The event was well attended, which helped drum up extra interest in the silent auction running alongside proceedings.
“Gidget Foundation Australia received feedback from our guests regarding how easy the Givergy platform was to use. Additionally, our Client Success Manager, Mairhead McKinley, was incredibly helpful and supportive – an asset to the Givergy team! “.
